March 23, 2020
We hope that everyone is well and that all friends and families are managing in the best way possible. This is our second update because we want to keep you all informed of the possible directions that we may take.
Karen has been busy thinking of ways to keep the fiddle community alive in these uprecedented times! Any options that Karen is considering for her April Workshop are based on what is happening today ( March 23, 2020) It goes without saying that all possible scenarios will be subject to changes and adaptations based on Federal, Provincial and Municipal Health and Safety priorities.
In discussion with Karen, she indicates first and foremost that there will be a workshop. It is the date and how it will be delivered which may be different. Today, on March 23, she sees three possible options:
1. Workshop goes on April 25-25
2. Workshop and participants go on line on April 25-26
3. Postponement of Workshop in Orangeville to a later date
With any of these options, details need to be investigated and we may be looking at a unique approach. For example, last Friday, Karen successfully ran a trial online orchestra rehearsal using ZOOM as the online platform. Those of us participating had a few good laughs and we enjoyed seeing one another on screen. With her studio business, she is running her lessons, one day workshops and will move to her orchestra rehearsals using the ZOOM platform.
Karen’s plan is to keep you informed of the workshop status. As we receive more government information and direction in the next few weeks, she will be able to make an informed and timely decision.
We hope that this information helps you understand that Karen is working hard to connect with her fiddle community, to offer a quality workshop and preserve the Canadian Fiddle Tradition.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org If your question is more suited to Karen, I will pass it on to her.
Going off to practise now…
